This is usually the amount of time it takes for the sod to grow roots, making it ready to grow seamlessly into place.

Think about planting your seeds in indoor pots and then transplanting them to your garden once they become seedlings. This can give your seedlings the advantage they need to survive and reach adulthood. This also enables you to close gaps between planting cycles. Your next crop of seedlings will be started and ready to be planted immediately after you remove your last crop from the garden.

You can make your flower beds brighter with biennials and annuals. You can use biennial and annual flowers to brighten the bed, and let you change how it looks. If there are gaps between the perennials and shrubs you have planted in a sunlit area, try filling those gaps with annuals and biennials.
